Our History
The history of Riverina Machinery is an interesting one. From humble beginnings in 1964, Riverina Machinery has been serving the needs of the people of Narrandera, Coleambally and surrounding areas.
From the start our association with John Deere has shown our faith in the product. And John Deere has recognised the value of Riverina Machinery, by awarding us for Best Overall Performance on many occasions.
In 2001, Riverina Machinery was purchased by the current owners, and the story continues.

Riverina Machinery into the 21st Century
HUTCHEON A&G PTY LTD trading as RIVERINA MACHINERY
On the 28th May 2001, a joint venture company, HUTCHEON A&G PTY LTD purchased the assets and trading name of Riverina Machinery from Mr Peter Cook, who had been trading as Silo One Pty Ltd.
HUTCHEON A&G PTY LTD is a 50/50 partnership between HUTCHEON & PEARCE, John Deere dealers in Wagga Wagga, Temora, Albury, Cowra, Parkes and Condobolin, and A & G MACHINERY, John Deere dealers in Griffith and Lake Cargelligo. All of the partners live in the Riverina, and have grown up and developed their businesses in the Riverina.
The trading name is HUTCHEON A&G PTY LTD Trading as RIVERINA MACHINERY, commonly referred to as RIVERINA MACHINERY.
In any franchise arrangement, the supplier has many demands to make of the dealer: market share, sales volume, parts supply, employee skill levels, tools, quality of premises and presentation.
"It's now a very hard criterion to meet and maintain in small rural communities."
In recent times banks, who have similar criteria, have been closing down smaller outlets in country towns, and pushing their customers to the larger regional centres. Technology, viability, takeovers and return on investment for their shareholders are the main reasons offered.
It was with this in mind that the alliance was formed. We believed from the start, and our belief has been reinforced over time, that we can operate as three separate entities, while sharing and providing the support services you need for the day-to-day operation of your enterprise, allowing you to continue to maintain your viability and grow your business.
By sharing and transferring employee skills and knowledge, specialised tools, parts stock, and both new and used machinery stock, we offer the rural communities of the greater Riverina a service that will survive the rigours of modern-day commerce.
Under the common banner RIVERINA PARTNERS, we can stave off the regionalisation of the smaller dealerships, and offer the rural communities of Narrandera and Coleambally a localised face-to-face service for your farm machinery needs.
There is a lot of work to be done to restore and maintain Riverina Machinery as a modern day dealership. We offer no major short term solutions or excuses: it will take several years of hard work and investment, however we are committed to providing a service to you, the customer, that allows you to maintain your high standard of productivity within the bounds of commonsense and economic viability.
"We look to your support so we can provide the services required in your local communities."
